Let's break down the maintenance and haircare for Platform Wefts vs. Platform Micro K-Tips.
Platform Wefts Maintenance:
We suggest you move up your extensions every 6-8 weeks. The biggest perk is that you can use the same hair for up to 6 months or longer, depending on your lifestyle and how you care for your extensions (more on that in a bit.)
Platform Micro K-Tips Maintenance:
With Micro K-Tips, we suggest you come in every 6-12 weeks for removal and reinstall. You will need new hair every time.
Extension Haircare:
Now, let's break down some haircare guidelines that will help you get the most out of your Platform Hair Extensions. With both Wefts and Micro K-Tips, the first 12 weeks are going to be the hardest. During that time, you are transitioning to a new hair care routine and getting used to having something new on your scalp.
Another key to keeping your extensions in top shape is brushing. Of course, we recommend our Platform Butter Brush, for this. It was specifically designed with hair extensions in mind. You should brush between the rows for weft extensions, while with Micro K-Tips, you should brush over the top of them.
